Five Shocking Ways To Pray Effectively

Having discussed the five reasons why you must be in church on Sunday, it’s time to unveil what prayer is all about, the importance of prayer, how to pray effectively, and the best praying position.

What is Prayer?

According to apostle Joshua Selman in one of his doctrines, PRAYER is a powerful mystery allocated to the saints for Dominion.

On his part, pastor Ben Musa of Christ House Church defines prayer as the communication between you and God.

He went on to say that prayer is a platform that allows you interact with God as the father.

It is one of the platforms and opportunities ordained by God to commune with us in a father and son interaction.

With the definitions from the highly-regarded men of God, I think there is no need for further explanation.

However, let me add that prayer isn’t just about asking or bringing your petitions to God; It is about cherishing your father’s voice and wanting to hear from him daily.

Prayer is about obeying one of God’s principles and commandments were given to us when he says you must “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

What is the importance of prayer

The importance of prayer can’t be overemphasized in our quest for a successful and holy living.

The importance of prayer include the following:

  • Prayer helps you start a day in the best possible way.
  •  Prayer enhances your decision-making prowess as it helps you make the right decisions with the help of the holy spirit.
  • Prayer enthrones God as the alpha and Omega of your life and situations
  • Praying means giving God total control of your life and destiny.
  • Prayer helps you build a strong relationship with God as it ensures frequent communication with the father through the holy spirit.
  • Prayer helps you submit your heart and commitment to God’s kingdom.

When Should You Pray?

There should not be your last resort after trying other obtainable and accessible options. You must prioritize prayer because the Lord commands us to pray at all times and in all seasons.

Until you prioritize prayers, you might be unable to pray an effective and efficient prayer which availeth much.

How to pray an effective prayer

We are confident that God answers prayers judging by his promises in the Bible (Matthew 7:8 Matthew 21:22; John 16:24)

The question is why do some prayers often appear as though they weren’t answered by God?

Again, we know that God isn’t moved by our emotions while praying; so, we must learn how to pray effectively.

Below are a few things to do for your prayers to be effective:

 1. Thank God for what he has done: God doesn’t joke with our praises! remember he said “if I am lifted, I will draw all men unto myself” (John 12:32) which means if we praise him he will raise us.

Don’t forget that he commands us to “Enter into his gate with Thanksgiving” (psalm 100:4); therefore, it is important to start your prayer with thanksgiving as that’s the easiest way to access the true heart of the Father

2. Have Faith: Some of the aforementioned bible verses laid much emphasis on belief and Faith. It is your faith that moves God to not the volume of your voice (Matthew 6:6)

If your faith can move a mountain and cast it into the water, how much more is your problem. Trust God when you pray.

3. God’s will should be your main Priority: “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” that is an excerpt from Jesus’ doctrine while teaching his disciples how to pray effectively.

Asking for your father’s will should be your priority as it is a way of giving him total control of your life and situation.

4. Be righteous or live a holy life: “Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?” (Romans 6:1)

The excerpt from apostle Paul’s teaching shows that we can’t overlook the place and importance of righteousness living if our prayers must be effectively answered.

Though “All our righteousness is like a filthy rag (Isaiah 64:6),”  we should trust God to give us the strength to live according to his purpose and principles.

5. Avoid any distraction when praying: Focus on God who is the author and finisher of your faith.

Avoid any distraction when praying, ensure that you are praying from your heart because it is a heartfelt prayer of the just that commands God’s attention.

What is the best praying position?

There is nothing like the best praying position. You might decide to kneel to pray, while others love standing when praying.

All that matters is praying heartfelt prayers with all concentrations. Your position won’t influence or affect your prayer efficiency.

Conclusion

Prayer is one of God’s ordained ways to communicate with his children.

Don’t pray for Success alone; don’t see prayer as a last resort.

Pray and trust God for quick intervention.
